A woman who was either with the victim, or witnessed the shooting, called police to report the man had been shot in the chest.
At 12:17 a.m., more officers were called to control the crowd that was gathering at the scene.
Shortly after the 12:17 a.m. announcement, officers declared the shooting a “homicide”.
A description of the shooter, as well as a motive, were not immediately disclosed.
Unconfirmed sources said a black man with a light complexion, wearing a red t-shirt, might have been involved in the shooting. He was last seen walking southbound on the 7800 block of South Vincennes Avenue, around 12:33 a.m.
The deceased man's family members arrived at the crime scene around 12:47 a.m.
Gang violence is going to get out of control this summer. There are way too many gangs that aren't afraid of anyone let alone the cops. Better get those "2000" cops trained FAST!
ReplyDeleteToday, there was more gun violence in this area. There was a shooting on the 7400 block of West Vincennes around 4:45 p.m.
ReplyDeleteI believe the actual location of the shooting was 7419 West Vincennes.
Police had to call for back up to control the crowd of alleged gang members at the scene.
Cops are looking for four black men in a red or maroon Dodge Caravan.
I'm not sure if there were any injuries.

His name was Cristopher Dacari Young and he was a very special young man!!! He was not a bad kid at all,and he didn't deserve to die!!! The alleged shooter was standing out there when the police were so called investigating!!!No arrests have been made in this horrible act of violence ... Anyone with information is urged to share it with the police... its nnever to late to do the right thing!!! He has a family who loves him very much
