At 5:53 a.m., a citizen reported a man with a knife in the Loop. The suspect was walking westbound on Adams from Franklin Street, and was reportedly trying to stab another pedestrian.
The armed offender was last seen headed towards the intersection of Wacker and Adams.
Around 5:56 a.m., police searched a nearby alley and came up empty-handed. One officer thought the suspect might have ducked into the building at 111 South Wacker Drive.
After searching several floors, authorities called off the search.
The offender was described as an African-American man in his late forties or mid-fifties, he was last seen wearing a Yankees hat, a black Chicago Bulls jacket, and carrying a black backpack.
If you happen to see anyone in the downtown area matching this man’s description, please contact the police immediately.

No description is needed here. That area is "sketchy" at best and anyone out at 5:53 AM is bound to run into trouble.
