Thieves Steal Blankets, Comforters from NW Side Family Dollar Store

In these frigid temperatures, we all could use an extra blanket or two. But most of us don’t go shoplifting to get them.

A group of African-American women swarmed a northwest side discount store, and stole a few items to keep themselves warm during Chicago’s brutal winter months.

According to police, the women took several blankets and comforters from the Family Dollar store at 5469 West North Avenue, near the intersection of North and Linder Avenues.

But don’t worry, the thieves won’t be snuggled up underneath those stolen blankets for long.

An alert Family Dollar store clerk gave police the license plate information on the getaway car.

  1. Guess they'll be getting a cot soon! These ghetto thugs must sit around and plan how they're going to get what they want without having any money. I remember when I was little, I took some penny candy..mary janes to be exact and my mom marched me right back to the store and made me tell the clerk I took it and give it back. I was like 7 and I have NEVER forgotten it. That's part of the problem now days, parents don't teach their children right from wrong, the children grow up and don't teach THEIR children right from wrong and on & on it goes. Yep, those comforters will get them a cot with a wool blanket!

  4. noone90210, I don't know how I missed that. I should be very familiar with Austin's borders by now!
