A simple bus ride has turned into a nightmare from hell. People are still trapped on Lake Shore Drive.
I have just received information that an estimated thirty people are trapped on a CTA Bus on Chicago’s south side.
According to police, the stranded citizens have been on the bus since 6 p.m., yesterday evening. Reportedly, there are motorists stuck in the area as well.
According to the Chicago Fire Department, there are at least 80 people stranded between 3900 South Lake Shore Drive and 4700 South Lake Shore Drive.

I do think that LSD SHOULD have been shut down as soon as this started BUT I also think the people who chose to ignore the warnings and take to the roads have a major part in this mess. The buses had to be out and sadly, some of them got stuck..brings back memories of '67 for sure...but the people in their cars? WOW. This was completely avoidable, EXCEPT for the buses.
ReplyDeleteI was devastated when I learned there were people stranded on a CTA bus for nearly 11 hours. I can only imagine how terrified they were.
ReplyDeleteWhy were these people (or anyone) even bothering to travel outside?
ReplyDeleteFor shopping, people had last week and the weekend. Just like Christmas and New Year's, any business could have waited another day.
