Police are investigation a brutal assault on a CTA Green Line train.

A CTA passenger, who claims he witnessed the assault, told police the attack was a “hate crime”. Authorities did not say how the witness came to that conclusion.

The alleged witness also said he took a photo of the offender with his cell phone. However, when police called the eyewitness back for more detials, their calls immediately went to voicemail.

The injured CTA passenger was taken to Norwegian American Hospital. I was unable to determine his condition.

  1. The CTA trains are infested with criminals just waiting to strike some innocent person. Ever notice bus stops are very rarely mentioned in articles about muggings and theft? That's because most of the time there are cars driving by and many people waiting for a bus(since they're rarely on time). This witness took a picture of the thugs and didn't get beat to hell as well? If he could take a picture than why couldn't he help?

  4. At certain times, I ride certain ELs to certain stops. :)

Basically, any crime should be classified as a hate crime. :|

  5. When I lived in Uptown, and wanted to make a quick trip downtown, I used to hop on the "L" at Sheridan. Eventually, even those short "L" rides became unbearable.

I actually learned to enjoy the long ride on the 151 Sheridan bus.
