In an article I posted at 8:03 p.m., I mentioned a pregnant woman was stranded after getting into a car accident at 3900 South Lake Shore Drive.
A Volvo and a gray Camry were involved in the crash.
According to updated information, as of 11:46 p.m., the pregnant woman, who was in the dark-colored Camry, is still missing.
Family members and loved ones have tried to reach the woman on her cell phone, but there is no answer.
Police have been instructed to go back to the location and search for her.
An officer who said he was at the scene earlier this evening, said he didn’t seen any cars stranded at 3900 South Lake Shore Drive. According to the officer, the only vehicle at the scene was a tow truck.
The woman is said to be 8-months pregnant.

Any update on this Timothy? I'm questioning WHY a pregnant women was OUT driving in this mess. The redline was running all day and even in the worst of it. I really hope this women is found safe and hopefully and when they are tell us to STAY off the roads, she listens the next time because in Chicago, there is ALWAYS a next time.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard any updates. I'm guessing she was among the 80 people who were stranded between 3900 and 4700 South Lake Shore Drive.
ReplyDeleteWhy were these people (or anyone) even bothering to travel outside?
ReplyDeleteFor shopping, people had last week and the weekend. Just like Christmas and New Year's, any business could have waited another day.
I really don't understand why a pregnant woman was outside. How would emergency assistance reach her? In this case, a home birth would be much better.
