Around 7:50 p.m., city official decided to shutdown Lake Shore Drive, due to the hazardous weather conditions.
The expressway is closed from Hollywood on the north side to 67th Street on the south side of Chicago.
I have been hearing multiple reports of stranded and abandoned vehicles on Lake Shore Drive.
There are several CTA buses, including a number 146 CTA bus, stalled on Lake Shore Drive as well. Officers at the scene said the buses have heat and the passengers are safe.
