Police are looking for two offenders who followed a CTA passenger from an Uptown train station and robbed him on the street.
The robbery occurred around 6:15 p.m.
Apparently, two suspects followed a man from the Wilson “L” station at 4620 North Broadway Street. The police dispatcher’s description of the location of the crime was unclear. But it appears the robbery occurred near 4400 North Sheridan Road, in between Montrose and Agatite Avenues.
The thieves stole the man’s iPhone and a CTA bus pass.
Police described the offenders as an African-American man and a African-American woman. Both suspects are believed to be 17 to 18-years-old.

"Police described the offenders as an African-American man and a African-American woman. Both suspects are believed to be 17 to 18-years-old." No shock there. I don't get why people STILL get off at Wilson. Seems better to go out of your way and be safe rather than walk through the madness that is the Wilson L stop. It's gonna take an army to clean up Uptown!
ReplyDeleteTimothy, Are you working on that list of crimes that have been committed on the CTA?
Towanda, I have not forgotten that list. It'll be done by the end of this week. :-)
ReplyDeleteI will take your comment one step further, I don't know why anyone rides the train at all!
ReplyDeleteDITTO that!
ReplyDeleteIs this website just a bunch of paranoid old people?
ReplyDeletePeople ride the train because they need to get places in the city. People get robbed on the train (usually) because they are not aware of their surroundings and have an incessant urge to play with their phone. Have you ever noticed that a lot of the robberies list an iPhone as a stolen item? Just keep it in your pocket and the robber will never have reason to target you. It isn't like AT&T even has service good enough to accomplish anything of interest on a train but I guess now a whole new group of Verizon iPhone users can experience this same treat!
Joseph; in answer to your question..
ReplyDelete"Is this website just a bunch of paranoid old people" Not "OLD but smart. There are buses that go the same route as the trains, which some people prefer to take because of the safety in numbers. I also see very few "OLD" people playing on their Iphones, Ipads, Ipod or any laptop for that matter. If you don't like the replies, why read the comments??
Joseph,
ReplyDeleteSome people keep their "rockets" in their pockets and still get robbed!
towanda,
At certain times, I ride certain ELs. At other times or depending on destination, I ride buses to avoid the mysterious fires, etc. in the tunnel stations.
Rudy, there sure have been a LOT of mysterious fires in the CTA subways, lately! :-)
ReplyDeleteRudy..."Some people keep their "rockets" in their pockets and still get robbed!"....Too funny. Never heard that one before. Good point as well;)
