Verbal threats and Internet blog posts from Tea Party members causes African-American Repulican to quit.
News from AZCentral.com: 43-year-old Anthony Miller resigned from his position as the Chairman of Legislative District 20 Republicans; which covers sections of Chandler, south Tempe, and Ahwatukee Foothills.
Miller resigned six hours after the massacre in Tucson, Arizona. The former chairman, in an email, stated he made the decision after his wife asked him if he thought someone would shoot at their home.
"Today my wife of 20 yrs ask (sic) me do I think that my PCs (Precinct Committee members) will shoot at our home? So with this being said I am stepping down from LD20GOP Chairman...I will make a full statement on Monday," said the former Chairman.
According to the AZCentral article, Miller received emails stating that someone was going to "get" him. He also claims several people with Tea Party ties, referred to him as "McCain's boy" and motioned with their hands as if they were shooting him.

These Tea Party people MAY have had the right ideas in wanting to change things BUT they have completely gone about it the wrong way. They probably like the Westboro Baptist Church as well. We are headed in a very dangerous direction in this country. I hardly think the Founding Fathers had this evil negative rhetoric in mind when they put the second amendment in the constitution. Wake up people or another Hitler will arise.
ReplyDeleteTowanda, when it comes to the Tea Party's stance against big government and wasteful spending, I'm behind them 100%! But I don't support anyone, no matter what group they belong to, if they promote violence or bigotry.
ReplyDeleteMe too Timothy but they have gone way off the path they were on. They reminded me of the 60's and the change in government brought on by protesters and other people wanting change. Too bad they lost their way.
ReplyDeleteTowanda, it's sad they are letting negativity destroy what otherwise is a great agenda.
ReplyDeleteIn a way, "we" must be fair too. "All" Tea Party members aren't committing crimes, only "some" are.
ReplyDeleteRudy, I think change is good. I also think those of the Tea Party that aren't into the negativity BUT the change, should be speaking out against it loud & clear. It really is true that certain people, no matter what the issue, spoil for everyone.
