Thief Cuts Woman’s Purse Strap, Snatches Handbag

A woman, probably on her way to work, was accosted by a thief who snatched her purse.

Police said the victim was walking through an alley near the 1200 block of North Rockwell Avenue, when a man cut her purse strap and took off. The incident occurred around 7 a.m.

The suspect is described as an African-American man between 35 and 40-years-old. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with a “leaf-green” hooded sweatshirt underneath.
