What if I told you an inmate was casually posting pictures on Facebook? Okay. Chew on that for a minute. Now... what if I told you he is posting those pictures with a phone most of us honest, hard-working citizens can barely afford?
In light of the recent murders of Chicago police officers Michael Flisk and David Blake, this next story will leave you wondering how many convicted murderers, rapists, and thieves are playing on Facebook - while they're supposed to be doing "hard time".
Despite serving a 30-year prison term for murdering Dwight Woodrell, Jr., a Pawnee County, Oklahoma Sheriff, Justin Walker is living the good life behind bars.
Facebook photos show the convicted murderer chillin' while smoking a bong, happily posing with other heavily tattooed gang members, and licking a shank.
Oh, did I mention his pictures are uploaded via a Blackberry?
Walker, who goes by the moniker "Just N Walk" on Facebook, has thirty-one Facebook friends. Fifteen of them are women.
If convicted, is this what accused cop killer, Timothy Herring, Jr., has to look forward to in prison - posting pictures on Facebook and sucking on a bong?

While this guy shouldn't have a phone or Internet access while he's in prison, I really don't think that a Blackberry is "barely affordable" for most people. Let's try and keep things in perspective.

Besides, you clearly missed the point, why does he even have a blackberry and why is he able to post on FaceBook? That's the real issue. This is a travesty. This article should be sent to Chuck Goudie at ABC7 for an "ITEAM" investigation. I might just do that. "Life in prison" my ass. These criminals live better in PRISON than some poverty stricken people who are contributing members of society. WTF is wrong with this picture?

ReplyDeletePrison sucks ass, F y'all if a dude cant get high while he's in there to ease the pain of physical and mental incarceration. The way people are treated in jail is beyond inhumane, if you're so offended by this you obviously have no perspective on what its like to actually be in jail, much less prison. This should be the reward that people who kill cops are gifted with, respect in jail and the means to take the edge off a decidedly unreasonable situation.

You made a choice, broke the law and got your sorry ass thrown in prison..it's not the Holiday Inn and you're not on vacation. It's called punishment for breaking societies laws. As far as a "reward" for killing someone...HELL is waiting for this guy and you for your inhumane thought process. Your comment tells me where you will end up but than, that's one less bottom feeder roaming our streets. You and everyone else who kills people deserve a cot, 3 squares of PB&J, the disney channel on tv, no work out equipment, no education, and no clean clothes. You lose those privileges when you go to prison...if only!
towanda, I agree. Prison should be as legally uncomfortable as possible. Frankly, I don't think convicts should have the luxury of sleeping on beds. What's wrong with the floor?

Towanda, I agree with everything you have said except for the Disney channel, they should not even have TV. That is a privilage that should be taken away too. I am sick of hearing these people complain because they are in jail or prison.. mean while, they get steak, visitors, nice workout area etc. Oh yea, they get a library, tv. cable (which a lot of us can't afford) computers, they don't pay for and internet access! Damn, maybe we all should break the law and join them there. Society is not worried about my mental health! What they should be doing is no computers, no tvs, bread and water, the prison system needs to go backwards a bit. I'm not talking about beating people, but come on!

Interesting they can scream violation of their rights while in PRiSON but forget about the rights of the people they murder, steal & rob from and beat silly. We have double standards in this country and they apply mainly to the criminals. That Sheriff in AZ has the right idea for sure!
ReplyDeleteI was working at the prison in cushing when the bastard first got there. He was walking around the unit singing I shot the sherrif. Was nice to see him leave, but i can't believe he has it so easy at Granite! My heart goes out to Dwight's family who had to see the incompetence at Granite. Unfortunately, staff more than likely took it in. Sucks that they choose money over morals.

ReplyDeleteWhatever this knuckle head's intention was for posting those pictures was, I'm sure he did not expect the outcome he received. The whole quad was probably locked down and shook down and alot more inmates went to segregation besides him. Also the prison's search of visitors policy was probably revised and updated as well as the search protocols involving guards reporting for duty. Justin has pissed off alot of Insiders with his thoughtless, egotistical antics and I wouldn't doubt that he truly feels the bite of prison life now. He made his own bed harder and now he's gonna have to sleep in it for the next twenty plus years. So sad, too bad is what I say to this dumb, selfish S.O.B.

ReplyDeleteIt's not The Dept Of Punishment it's the Correctional Institutions. What we have to accept as a society is the fact that most prisoners will one day be free. Therefore if we treat them like animals that's what we'll get in return. I don't agree with prisoners having cell phones or pot, but I can assure you there are correctional officers bringing this contraband to the inmates. and I doubt this guy is a hard core Aryan, you do see an African American in the picture. Why is it that we have the largest inmate population in the world? It's a lucrative business that's why, do some research most politicians from mayors to Governors have heavily invested in the private prison industry, while at the same time eliminating all educational, vocational training in state prisons, If we don't treat the drug addicts with intensive treatment and teach them a vocational they can use once released then the revolving doors will continue to roll and our elected officials bank accounts with them. some thing is wrong we should demand change no not Obama's change!!

ReplyDeleteThe saddest thing I saw in this piece was his daughter posing with guns. That child shouldn't even know what a gun is. She isn't old enough to know how to respect them. I hope Justin was put into solitary indefinitely. He should have gotten the death penalty. I don't think prisoners should be able to get any privileges. Their rights should be completely terminated once they are convicted. No tv, no radio, no visitors, no nothing. 3 meals a day and a bed and if they so desire give them a bible to read. That's it, period. Prison isn't a place to enjoy yourself, it is a place to pay for a crime or crimes you have committed. Don't reward bad behavior.
