Denzel Pittman Charged With Triple Murder in Morgan Park Stabbings

18-year-old Denzel Pittman has been charged with the murders of 43-year-old Stacy Cochran-Hill, 17-year-old Jade Hannah, and 11-year-old Joi Cochran. Police say 17-year-old Jade was Pittman's girlfriend.

On November 29, 2010, all three victim's were found stabbed to death in an apartment on the 11100 block of South Bell Avenue, in Morgan Park.

From Chicago Breaking News: "Pittman was charged as a juvenile earlier this year with domestic battery for allegedly beating Jade at his Park Forest home. Three months later in June, Pittman was shot in the hip by Park Forest police after he allegedly refused to drop a gun, after reportedly threatening people at the Park Forest Aqua Center."

Pittman's Facebook page shows no traces of a homicidal maniac. In fact, he seems quite "normal". He lists his interest as "to succeed in life" and his favorite movies are The Dark Knight, The Incredible Hulk, and Rush Hour.

Although the media lists Pittman's last known address as a location on the 100 block of Westwood in Park Forest, Illinois; his Facebook page indicates he lives in Chicago.

According to Pittman's online profile, he graduated from Rich South Campus High School in 2010.

  7. It has nothing to do with him being African-American. Inasanity has no color or cultural background

Who said anything about insanity? Basically, what you're saying is ANYONE who murders someone can go the "insanity" route. Yeah right. These thugs know full well what they're doing when they're doing it. Perhaps in the frenzy of killing these 3 people, he may have had a lapse of insanity while he stabbed them 22 times BUT He had enough presence of mind to get the hell out of there and hide, doesn't sound like an "insane" person to me, just another excuse for the behavior.

  16. first of all your facebook page has nothing to do with how you live, you can portray anything on the internet. Something did go wrong with him for him to take 3 lives you cant just look at a person and see if they are insane or not. I know that he has beaten this girl before this, all this couldve been prevented he if got some help or if someone stood up and said some about his behavior. Its just sad to know. And he is guilty because he confessed and it was blood on his jacket. He had planned on killing her because he came to her house with a knife.

  18. its a shame how this young man ended his life and the lives of others, it was very selfish of him to this as well as the other young man who killed those two police officers. Just making people cry families and victims at the same time. But the biggest questions are where were the family when these young men was showing troubles in there lives. you can tell when a family member is in trouble or having problems in life. People talk to your family so we can prevent these foolish acts. My heart goes out to the victims and the suspects families.

  19. Why did her mom not stop the relationship after the first assult on her. These young ladies need to know there worth something. It is not cute having someone trying to control you. I feel so sorry for the young lady family. This one time I wish in life we can have a do over and change things. These young girls better tell someone when they are in trouble. These fathers step up and kick these boys ass. You touch my baby you will get your ass kicked every time!!

  20. its absolutely sick that ppl are defending this monster. i knew jade she was my friend and she in no way deserved this and her mother and sister didnt either. his parents are to blame for raising such a person. this is going to come back on him ten times worse and he will deserve all of the pain and anguish coming his way... R.I.P Jade, Joi, and Ms.Cochran-Hill

  21. Yes this is a sad story. As for the RACIST individual who had Joi Cochran in his/her program...YOU NEED TO STOP PUTTING THE BLAME ON BLACK PARENTS WHEN YOU HAD YOUR PART IN IT TOO! SO POINT THAT FINGER AT YOOOOOOOOOOOOU! You were obviously placed in a position of authority and influence in the lives of young people, so instead of blaming black parents LOOK AT YOURSELF and ask WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP YOUTH TODAY. May God be with the bereaved families in their time of need.

  22. Anonymous comments are the best comments! :D (Seriously while a couple of these comments are okay, a lot of this borders on horrible finger-pointing flamebait.)

All assholery aside, domestic violence amongst teens is a subject that I feel a lot of people don't touch on often. This is most definitely a tragedy, no doubt about it. I feel as if we should take advantage of the publicity and use this event as a way to foster discussion about what we can do to inform teens (and beyond) that domestic violence is a huge societal problem that needs to be addressed.

  25. He is NOT innocent until proven guilty, he was covered in THEIR blood…Yea, keep your head up while your bent over PUNK! I feel no sympathy for you at all. You took innocent lives, because you simply couldn't have what you wanted. They should've shipped your ass away last month, and Stacy, Jade, and Joi would be breathing today; living life as they knew it…..

As far as the "Help" he needs, I say gut his ass like a fish, that'll help so he'll feel the same pain he inflicted on an entire family, families, community, and legacy.

  26. All of you "ANON" supporting this piece of shit are probably just a tic away from joining him. ANYONE who supports a killer has no respect for human life. His parents? Where were/are they? And just what are you supporters being taught by your parents? That life isn't precious? Sounds like it to me. Just remember this, when you or anyone you know commits a horrible crime like this, it's a reflection on your upbringing (or lack there of.) It's a reflection on YOUR PARENTS! IT STARTS AT HOME. FRY HIS SORRY ASS! We don't need animals like him breathing our air! Oh, and you "Anon" commenters who don't know how to speak the English language or even write it...Grow up and get some education. That will enhance your sorry life and perhaps you won't be another "Denzel"

  28. Pray for peace and forgiveness as you will have a peaceful heart. I pray for the peace and comfort for the Cochran, Hill, and Ramsey families as well as, the Pittman family.

Both families have suffered and this will be a difficult time for both. A parent can not be held accountable for the behavior of a child because an individual will chose their own path. He is clearly a troubled young man and it is unfortunate that this occurred before someone intervened.

Pray without ceasing and asked the Lord to give you a peace heart to forgive.

  29. May God continue to walk with the family and victims of this terrible crime. Im not sure how to cope with this myself, I am deeply saddened. One thing that I do know is that blame does not conquer hurt. Please pray,

  30. PEOPLE, this is NOT a BLACK thing, this a HUMAN race thing...I don't blame the parents of this menace, nor do I blame the victims...PEOPLE,this is a heartbreaking event that toke place, just when you think you have heard the worst, you hear something else that tears your heart in half...I am even more befounded by some of the comments...I feel as if this family was my own, I do not know this menace nor do I know the victims but I can say I will pray for them all. GOD has a greater plan for us all and we really need to identify with this truth and also the truth that surrounds us...When posting comments please take the time out to consider the familys that are reading this, they have done nothing wrong and do not deserve this...Have a blessed day...

  31. Tempest;
Good for you. You go ahead and pray for this evil person and for the "greater plan". Sit and wait for God to step in and help. I myself would rather do something about this and all the other useless killings taking place in this city. I'll "snitch" I'll take pictures, I'll call 911 at the least infraction, I'll pepper spray the hell out of them and I certainly WILL NOT give up the streets I pay for to these thugs! You can march and pray all you want but remember "God helps those who help themselves" which means..TEACH YOUR CHILDREN RESPECT FOR THE VALUE OF LIFE! It's true, children will take a different route SOMETIMES, but that's only because they weren't taught properly in the first place. This young man had many issues, where in the hell were his parents? Where was anyone from his family to help him? Spitting out children like they were candy and than dropping them off with grandparents or society is just immoral. Not teaching your children or encouraging them to get an education is why we are in the mess we are in in this city. Step to the plate and "help yourselves" by throwing out that so called "code of silence" and hiding behind closed doors. Keep praying and having a peaceful attitude. That's all great BUT it won't change the current situation we are in. It will simply make YOU feel better! Why aren't these parents checking on their kids? Why aren't these parent enforcing a curfew? Why aren't these parent looking in their kids room for guns and drugs? Why aren't these parents PARTICIPATING in the lives of the children THEY brought into the world? When the black communities start doing all of these things and much more, their children will not become murders and end up in prison for society to take care of. Most of the murders committed in this city are committed by black thugs. You know it and I know it. Denial is rampant in the black community. OWN it and than do something about it. It's not my job to care for your kids. I already raised mine and they are a contributing part of society. Ask yourself why the black community's kids are not. Children "do a they see". Set an example!

  32. Towanda, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, so why not respect the opinions of others. You are right, I will sit and wait for God to step in, which is my beliefs and anger only stimulates more violence and It seems to me that you hold that characteristic, now I understand that anger you have because when I first heard about this I was angry but I was taught not to hold on to anger because it is a very unhealthy disease...Now, I don't agree with what this young man did at all but if you feel that is what I'm saying, I would understand why because you are angry and when people get angry they overlook key factors...you have a very blessed night Towanda and I will also keep you in my prayers...

    ReplyDelete
  33. Sorry Tempest, but I wasn't talking about you defending him. I didn't get that from your comment, only the many others prior. And by the way, I am not angry in the way you are implying, I simple stated facts and and solutions. I am pretty fed up with all this nonsense going on in the city I happen to love and while you believe praying will change that, I believe doing nothing will not change it. Inaction is the result of complacency. Pray all you want, but do something else as well, unless, of course, that is all you have to offer.

  36. I hope the sorry bastard rot in hell. I knew and loved the deceased, so until any of you have felt pain that our family feels first hand, you truly couldn't possibly understand what it's like from day to day. As for his parents, I feel bad for them too because he may as well be dead. He will probably never see the light of day again. I hope that his thoughts and flashbacks of the killings will torment the hell out of him because he is psycho, crazy, daranged, and an out right monster. He wasnt insane, it was premeditated and he deserves whatever he gets, hopefully it will never be a goodnights rest, or any peace. Rot in hell punk ass Denzel.

  39. What is heartbreaking is this young man either did not have help or avail himself of it when offered to help him work through the very human feelings of rage when you are rejected or cannot have the person you have deep feelings for. I'm reading all this and seeing a tragedy in the making. Wonder if he had anyone trying to help him recognize that his pain would eventually heal if he'd just walk away and he'd be stronger for it. He's young and has/had his whole life ahead of him. Whatever drove him to kill is not worth it.
