David Blake, Openly Gay Chicago Cop Murdered: Untold Story & Cover-ups

Slain Chicago SWAT team member, Officer David Blake, was openly gay. At least that’s what his Facebook profile suggests.

And according to an anonymous source, the circumstances surrounding Officer Blake’s murder are a complete embarrassment to the Chicago Police Department; and they are doing everything possible to keep the truth from seeing the light of day.

In a December 3, 2010, article, I reported that Blake’s murder may have been precipitated by an affair with another police officer’s wife. Nothing could be further from the truth, said one source. Before his death, Officer Blake was purportedly engaged in multiple affairs with men, some of those affairs allegedly involved other male Chicago police officers. Some of those officers are married, said an informant.

According to recently uncovered information, Blake allegedly had a reputation for being “loose” and slept with “the right people” to get his position with the Chicago SWAT team.

And what about those rumors of an arrest being made in the Blake murder case? Apparently, they’re true. I was told not only have police apprehended a suspect, they may have already made an arrest. So, why keep this information from the public? What are the police, along with the help of the mainstream media, hiding? The arrest of another cop? One source says, “Yes.”

I reached out to most of the 71 people listed as Blake’s Facebook friends - not one of them responded to my inquiries.

And despite my best efforts, I was unable to track down Chicago police officer, Theodore Browning. Remember, Browning lives right across the street from where Blake was murdered (the 2900 block of West Seipp Street) and claims to have actually heard gunshots and saw someone running away from Blake’s SUV.

Browning also told a reporter he didn’t know Blake personally. In the following CBS2 News video, at the 1 minute - 38 second mark, Browning can be heard saying, “…I didn’t know him personally."

But Browning’s statement was put to the test after Fox-Chicago News discovered an email linking Browning to Blake.

If David Blake was murdered by a "downlow" lover or someone who had an issue with his sexuality, I think the public deserves to know the truth.

  1. Well Timothy, great undercover work! The problem is getting the truth out of the police is like pulling teeth..there's always a cap. I don't doubt this story/coverup one bit, nor does it surprise me. I truly hope YOU can get to the bottom of this and bust it wide open.

  3. CPD has several gay/lesbian organizations, why would they hide the fact an officer is gay? If the murder was involving an affair, then its domestic related. Everyone is always looking for a cover up, guess what CPD has a boss that spearheaded an officer being charged federally, even after he was cleared locally. You think he would allow such a cover up?
File this under, "nothing to be seen here, move along"

You seem to be avoiding the larger issue here. The question is, why would they covered up the murder of a gay officer by another cop?

You sound like a blog flack who is responsible for confusing or diverting attention from a hot issue.

  6. A few days ago, one of Blake's Facebook friends responded to my inquiry. She tried to convince me that Blake was straight. Even though his Facebook profile clearly indicates he was interested in men.

  10. Cover up? Jodie Weis wouldn't let that happen, he is desperately trying to hold onto his job and what could make him look better than locking up another cop.
