An apparent road rage incident almost turned deadly for a Chicago cabdriver in Lincoln Park.
The cabdriver called 911 around 8:52 p.m., after a man reportedly pulled a gun on him during a traffic accident. The incident occurred near the intersection of North Halsted Street and West Wrightwood Avenue.
The cabby said the driver of a red, Grand Am sideswiped his car, exited the vehicle, and pulled a gun on him. The cabdriver immediately fled the scene and called police.
Moments later, a man dressed in a security uniform and armed with a gun, walked into a nearby police station claiming he was involved in a hit and run car accident with a cabdriver. The armed security guard told police the cabby struck his vehicle and fled the scene.
Police are investigating the incident.
