Car Stolen at Lincoln Park Caribou Coffee

UPDATE  Around 7:26 a.m., a man called 911 after his car was reportedly stolen in front of the Lincoln Park Caribou Coffee at 2453 North Clark Street.

The victim said a white man wearing dark glasses like Clark Kent, a black hat, and a red or black jacket, jumped into his silver, 2008 Prius (license plate number is 948049)  and took off. The vehicle may be similar to the car in the photo.

The car thief was last seen headed eastbound from Caribou Coffee.

At 8:21 a.m., the offender came back to Caribou Coffee. Police say the car shut off and the thief was looking for the car keys.

At one point, it wasn't clear if the suspect was black or white, but police have confirmed that he is Caucasian. Authorities say the offender is a homeless man who attends a church on Fullerton.
