Around 8 p.m., two men attempted to rob an off-duty police officer in Chicago’s south side Englewood neighborhood.
The off-duty officer said two men tried to rob him on the 6900 block of South Ashland Avenue. When he told them he was an off-duty police officer, the offenders fled the scene.
Police say no weapons were used in the attempted robbery.
One of the offenders was described as an African American man, approximately 6’2”, with a slim build. I wasn't able to get a description of the second suspect.
