Madison Wisconsin Man Attacked by Teens in Apparent Gang Initiation

On October 27, 2010, around 7 p.m., a Madison, Wisconsin man walking on the 2200 block of Winnebago Street, was attacked by two teenagers.

Before the assault, the man noticed a group of teens loitering in the area. Two of them approached the man and asked him for the time. Before he could respond, he was punched, knocked to the ground, and stomped on.

As the assailants were leaving the crime scene, the victim asked, "Do you think your mother is proud of you now?"

Police say robbery was not the motive for the attack. The offenders never asked for money and never tried to search the victim's pockets.

Both suspects are described as African-American men, approximately 16-years-old. One suspect is 5'8" and 120 to 140 lbs. He is thin with short hair and was wearing a maroon sweatshirt or sweater and dark pants.

The second offender is 5'10" to 6-feet-tall and thin. He was wearing a baggy, blue and white horizontal striped shirt.

If you have any information on this crime, call Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014.
