Elderly bicyclist suffers possible heart attack

An elderly man, biking through the city's North Side, suffered an apparent heart attack, said police.

The senior citizen was found lying in street on the 3100 block of North Kimball Avenue, near Kimball and Belmont, around 9:35 a.m.

Initial 911 calls indicated the biker was possibly struck by a vehicle, but a responding officer said the elderly man likely suffered cardiac arrest.

Citing police communications, prior to the responding officer's arrival, bystanders performed CPR on the man.

When describing the senior citizen’s condition, the officer said, “it doesn't look good.”

Paramedics transported the man to an area hospital.

Authorities took the elderly gentleman’s bicycle to a nearby police station for safekeeping.

  1. Glad it didn't happen in a colored area. Shines would have robbed him as he lay on ground.
