Woman attacked walking through North Side park

A woman was physically assaulted in Chicago’s Peterson Park neighborhood, said police.

The woman was walking through Legion Park, 3200 West Hollywood Avenue, when a man approached her from behind and tried to force her off the path.

One report said the offender tried to force the woman into a nearby stairwell.

Prior to the incident at Legion Park, the woman saw the man hanging out near Lawrence Hall at 4833 North Francisco Avenue, said police.

The suspect is a male black in his 20s, he was wearing an orange shirt and knee-length short pants.

According to the last update, the attacker fled the scene southbound from the park.

    My niece was jogging through a middle-class Detroit suburban park and was attacked - TEN - years ago. She got her CCW soon afterward(a glock).
