Woman robbed in Budlong Woods neighborhood

Saturday, police were investigating a strong arm robbery in Chicago's North Side, Budlong Woods neighborhood.

The incident occurred around 8:40 a.m. near the intersection of North California and West Rascher Avenues.

A black male offender in his 30s approached a woman from behind, struck her with an unknown object, grabbed her necklace, and fled eastbound through a nearby gangway, said police.

The thief was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black short pants, and a black baseball cap.

At the time of this report, the mugger was still at large.
