Cops: Man almost robbed near Rogers Park train station

A man escaped his would-be robbers and flagged down a passing police car late Saturday night, said authorities.

On June 9, 2012, around 11:45 p.m., a man said he was almost mugged near the CTA Jarvis Red Line station at 1523 West Jarvis Avenue, in Rogers Park, said police.

The offenders were described as four black males, 13 to 14-years-old.

Police toured the area, but the young suspects were nowhere to be found.

According to police communications, the victim did not want to file a police report.

Instead, a contact card was completed in case the offenders are spotted at a later date.
