Man wanted for theft at Skokie fitness center

Skokie police, along with the Chicago Police Department, are looking for a thief who stole several items from a Skokie, Illinois gym.

The theft occurred around 1:30 p.m., at LA Fitness, 3220 West Touhy Avenue, near Touhy and Kedzie, said police.

A bearded male black offender with a heavy build broke into several lockers at the health club, said authorities.

Investigators said the suspect fled the scene in a pea-green van with wood panel accents.

The getaway car is believed to be a Ford or Chevy.

After the incident, authorities said the crook may have headed toward Chicago.

Anyone with additional information on this crime, should contact the Skokie Police Department at 847-982-5900.

    "A Ford or Chevy". LOL Well, if it were a Suburu Outback or VW Jetta, the getaway car could have been recognized here.

    The "heavy build" should of been a dead give away that he didn't belong there. The only people who work out at LA Fitness are in really good shape!

    there was also a theft at la fitness yesterday on milwaukee and irving park maybe they are related

    There are thefts in gyms all the time. Many times the employees are the culprits.

    I'm "the guy in the khaki cargo shorts" that was mentioned on Craigslist missed connections twice in one day after a gym visit. I keep my valuables with me. (all they had to do was say "hello" - imagine)

    Hi, I think you're misrepresenting what lockers look like at La Fitness.

    La Fitness uses wooden lockers to where you just need any old object to get it open....I know this because my Marine Corps Book Bag I got in boot camp (Yes, they gave us 'book bags') was stolen.

    Note though I went to the La Fitness which gave a lot of free memberships to the poor 'yoofs' in Robbins IL.

    Needless to say they were either hogging the courts or talking about 'muh dik' neither the locker rooms.

    I disagree there with a fat woman who shouldn't have even been working there but most likely got the job because Affirmative Action as she just let people come in and not sign in or ask for them to sign in as she just sat there and looked at her book
