  1. I switched to Peapod because of all the fucking freaks at northside grocery stores...

  2. I switched to CVS because of all the aggressive, violent panhandlers that a few of the Walgreens allow. One good thing about America - we have choices!

Now if the Edgewaterians and Uptowners had their way, there would be one drug store owned for the last 50 years by Mr. & Mrs. Mayberry and even though the store was filthy and they only had 4 items to choose from (that were way overpriced), that's they way it should be. And when there's a shooting on my street, well, these things just happen but I'm gonna go on a "no justice, no peace" march because Subway is moving into the vacant building. :(

I thought they all grew/harvested their own crops on rooftops up there now anyway. Why a grocery store?

  3. Those fucking social worker activists in Uptown are fucking delusional about panhandlers.
One fat bitch told me that an obvious con artist "belonged" in my neighborhood 8 hours a day panhandling and I was racist to not want him there. I suppose next she would want me to put out some futons for the bums to sleep on in front of my apartment building.

  4. Anon @ 6:10 - LOL. I posted above. These people are a trip! I can't do anything but laugh at them now. I call them the "di*k or a dollar people". They hate me and my tie with a passion but want my pants or money (what lil' $ I have anyway).

  5. And realizing I'm getting a little older now but did you ever see that scene in my favorite movie called "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World" when Ethel Merman slaps the back of her hand against her palm and screams "these things happen because the world is full of people like you that believe that - these things just happen?!"

    ?

    History repeating.

I'm the one that posted in the Edgewater Crime Blotter.com years ago(now edvillebuzz.com) that the former Dominicks on this corner was circa. 1950 and needed to be torn down. They tried to kill me for that comment. So now they have lipstick on a pig. Next.

Ya got a new group trying to "change the world" - again. Good luck and may God bless you.

  6. It's really funny when they're parked on their butt and you "accidentally" fart in their face walking by or maybe a little blast of pepper spray.
    Fuck the homeless!!

  7. I stopped by the Jewel on Southport the other day and when I walked out, there were two guys trying to get money for their "basketball team". One of them stepped in front of me with his flyer and before he could say anything, I said "no thanks". The little cretin started swearing at me!

  8. Stolen meat? I'm shocked it wasn't hot wings bbq potato chips and a 2 liter bottle of Coke. No, wait. Those are Walgreen's and CVS pickins.

  9. To 1035 - screw those "kids" trying to raise money for their "basketball team."

Anybody with a few dollars can go to Kinko's, type up a quick flyer, and make a few hundred copies.

These "kids" know that there are plenty of idiots & bleeding hearts out there that will believe their story about raising money for a team/school/whatever.

No real teacher or youth basketball coach will send teens out into the city with a handful of flyers to solicit donations.

I'm with you - I don't even give them a chance to open their mouths when they approach me, I just say "No" and continue on my way. Don't even let them get close to you, just like don't ever let a homeless looking person get near you when waiting at a bus stop or at the intersection. ONLY bad things can happen to you. I donate to charity through my paycheck every two weeks, and drop off old clothes to the Salvation Army twice per year. I have no problem saying "no" to these jokers.

  10. I got those bakkaball flyer kids banned from several Wrigleyville restaurants, I've also had the urge to run up and kick the bucket out from in front of them like a football. Fucking jungle noise!!!

  11. stolen meat. Meat has to be cooked. It can only last so long as currency. How fast can you run with a bag of meat? How far can you run? I do not envy security dealing with this sh..t

  12. I was heavily involved with a local social service agency for a few years and as a result I am fucking completely intolerant of any and all homeless/fringe of society types.
Just seeing one of them enter a business makes me leave, usually.
I know I'm going to burn in hell but at least I know why.

  13. A friend of mine owns a restaurant that also has a deli & prepared foods counter in the River North area.

One day, some bleeding heart woman actually brought in one of the homeless guys who always begs in front of the door, to pick out food for himself from the counter.

My friend said that he didn't realize the homeless guy was in his store until the lady had finished paying. He called her over, thanked her for the business, then asked her to never bring in a homeless person again.

She accused him of being intolerant (the homeless guy was white, so she couldn't scream racism), and promised to never go to his store again if he was serious about it.

He said something like, "Well I supposed we'll miss your business, but we will absolutely not tolerate you bringing homeless beggars in to our store. Next time you want to feed them, invite them to a dinner in your apartment, and we'll gladly provide the catering at cost."

  14. Big Al,

Oh believe me I know that "basketball team" scam! I feel bad for the idiot tourists who fall for it, but it's their own fault for not questioning it.

  15. CNR needs to have an open post on panhandlers, period.

I've had to restock my pepper spray supply because of so many wild apes attacking me in Lakeview and Edgewater, the same guy fucked with me again, I guess all us white boys look the same, he didn't remember the last encounter we had, but he had something to thing about other than muh dikk and robbery for awhile today!

  16. i think you people are stuck up little bitches. I was homeless in chicago for 2 years and relied on begging. I never aggresively bothered people and i understand if people say no, but i never stole and people gave me money willingly. I am so mad at people who say oh just give to a charity instead of the homeless person. First of all Salvation army is the worst organization, they do hardly anything for people and make them buy clothes instead of giving it to the people. They are asseholes who do nothing for the homeless. You know what if you are so worried about the person spending it on drugs or alcohol, so what if that is all they have to look forward to then who cares. People in Chicago are straight up assholes who won't help anyone. Maybe one day u will lose everything and have to embarass yourself by asking people for help. I never once stole from a store or person. So fuck u all who say donate it to charity. I would rather burn my money then give it to those greedy salvation army assholes
