Cops taser man in Rogers Park

Police responding to a domestic dispute in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood, tasered a man, said authorities.

Thursday, September 29, 2011, around 10:27 p.m., police were called to a second floor apartment on the 6500 block of North Glenwood Avenue, near Glenwood and Loyola.

A preliminary report indicated at least two people were engaged in a physical confrontation, and a woman involved in the disturbance, was allegedly armed with a knife.

At 10:31 p.m., a taser was deployed at the North Glenwood address and an ambulance was called to the scene.

Subsequent reports indicate the police tasered a male subject, who was later transported to a nearby hospital.

No further details are available.

  3. I can't even express how inadequately armed I feel as a woman with a night job, with merely pepper spray and a knife.

  4. @Kat,
    It's like taking a squirt gun to the war and these ghetto thugs don't have a problem attacking women, the elderly or handicapped. Their lack of ANY humanity is beyond pathetic.

    @Anonymous11:02,
    If someone would have told me the north side would turn into the wild wild west, I would have told them they needed to adjust their meds..lol.

  5. TASER is a useful tool for law enforcement, but it is not really adequate for self-defense.
