Fire reported at Uptown restaurant

A fire at a North Side, Uptown neighborhood eatery was reported Wednesday around 2:46 a.m.

The fire was at Pho Lilly, a Vietnamese restaurant at 5100 North Broadway, near Broadway and Carmen, said police dispatch.

According to the 911 caller, a “lot of smoke” was coming from the building.

The smoke appeared to be caused by a pot that was left on a stove, said an officer at the scene.

Investigators said the smoke caused minimal damage.

At 3:06 a.m., police were still trying to notify the restaurant’s owner.
