Random North Side police calls: 06/14/2011

12:25 a.m. - Someone called police after a man allegedly tried to rape a woman. The incident occurred at 1237 West Morse Avenue. The victim, described as an older black female, was reportedly nude. A witness saw a naked man exit the building, then quickly go back inside.

1:17 a.m. - A man wearing a white stocking cap or a hood over his head, reportedly broke a first floor apartment window at 3510 North Pine Grove Avenue. A 911 caller said the man ran away when a woman inside the apartment screamed.

1:23 a.m. - Concerned family members called police after a woman was allegedly attacked and robbed on the 7600 block of North Paulina Street. According to the 911 caller, the female victim's cell phone was stolen during the robbery.

3:03 a.m. - An ambulance was called to 944 West Grace, where a man believed to be in his thirties, fell down a flight of stairs. The man reportedly sustained an injury to the back of his head. According to authorities, alcohol may have been involved.

3:29 a.m. - A man purportedly walked into Little Jim's Tavern at 3501 North Halsted Street and threw a bottle at someone. The offender was described as six-foot-two black man wearing a gray jacket with a white stripe.

3:44 a.m. - CTA passengers reported a group of men intimidating commuters at the Belmont Red Line station, 949 West Belmont Avenue.

3:58 a.m. - An alleged gunman, who reportedly threatened to kill a woman, was arrested at 5640 North Talman Avenue. The woman reportedly told authorities the man was chasing around with a gun. According to police dispatch, a small child was present during the altercation. The man was arrested around 4:06 a.m.
