Police: Sex offender lured Little Village neighborhood girls into van

Police have issued a community alert for Chicago's Little Village neighborhood.

On Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at approximately 9:30 a.m., two girls, both 10-years-old, got into a van on the 4200 block of West 25th Street, said a police report.

The male Hispanic driver offered the children a ride to school, said police.

Once they were inside, the man drove the girls to a nearby alley, where he fondled one of the girls, said investigators.

The suspect, who was driving a maroon minivan, is 25 to 45-years-old. He has a medium build and a dark complexion.

The perpetrator was last seen wearing blue jeans and a gray shirt.

If you have any information regarding this crime, please contact the police at 312-492-3810.

  2. Parents really need to talk to their children about sexual predators. I know it's a sensitive subject, but children need to be armed with as much information as they can process. This story could have had a very tragic ending.
