'Elderly' man assaulted on North Ave. CTA bus


A man described as elderly, was reportedly attacked on a CTA bus.

The alleged incident occurred Friday, June 17, 2011, at approximately 11:25 p.m.

A westbound No. 72 North CTA bus was on the 3200 block of West North Avenue, near North and Kedzie, when several teens "punched" the man, said police.

After the alleged assault, the teens got off the bus and jumped on another CTA bus, said one report.

At 11:56 p.m., the purported victim was still waiting for the police to arrive.

According to police dispatch, several people at the scene were angered over the Chicago Police Department's slow response time.

  2. I really hope the man is ok. what took the police so long!!!! I guess they are enjoying watching the beach to much. people should have been tired a long time ago. people should be allowed to carry something on them, doesn't have to be a gun just something to protect themselves. ( it's called self defense. )
