Cops: Injured woman found in Ravenswood, doesn’t know what happened to her

At 5:05 a.m., a 911 caller reported a badly injured woman stumbling around the intersection of Damen and Wilson, in Chicago’s Ravenswood neighborhood.

The woman’s appearance was so severe, the tipster thought the woman had been stabbed.

The 911 caller last saw the wounded woman walking northbound on Damen Avenue.

At 5:09 a.m., a CTA employee called police after the bloodied female victim arrived at the Damen Brown Line station at 4643 North Damen Avenue.

According to investigators, the woman had no idea what happened to her.

Based on her appearance, one officer thought the woman had been hit by a car.

“She doesn’t know what happened to her, but her jacket is all torn up. She looks like she was hit by a car,” said the officer.

An ambulance took the woman to Illinois Masonic Hospital for medical treatment.

If you have any information regarding what happened to this victim, please contact the police.

  2. she must have been using some type of drug. the sad thing is she will be let out the hospital once she is stable.

  3. Just because a woman was found stumbling and disoriented does not mean she was on drugs. Maybe someone slipped her a drug. And her being 'stable' is a good thing. Let's not judge until we hear the full story.

  4. Drugs don't explain the blood and the condition of her clothing.

  5. Anyone ever been hit in the head and felt dizzy? Clearly this woman was attacked in some manner. Why blame it on drugs? Oh wait, I know, it's always the woman's fault...yea right!
