Attempted kidnapping: Child snatched in Irving Park neighborhood


Monday, around 9:04 p.m., an attempted kidnapping was reported in Chicago’s Irving Park neighborhood.

According to police dispatch, a girl was abducted near the Cleveland Middle School at 3121 West Byron Street.

Apparently, a family member was unloading groceries at a nearby apartment building, when the girl was forced into a dark-colored car and blindfolded, said police.

When the offender or offenders stopped the vehicle to speak with someone, the kidnapping victim managed to open the door and escape, said authorities.

According to the 911 caller, the little girl was not physically harmed.

No further details are available.

  1. Women, seniors, children, gays. How weak and cowardly are these ghetto thugs to prey on the weakest of our society? They should be very proud...NOT

    I'm glad that child made a get away and I'm sure she has a description of this animal. Hopefully, though not likely, the police will catch this animal.
