The shooting occurred around 3 a.m. on the 5800 block of North Broadway, near Broadway and Ardmore.
Investigators found shell casing at 5826 North Broadway and 5845 North Broadway. Several windows in the area were shot out. Police did not say if the shattered windows were in cars or businesses.
A witness saw a black woman driving a black car, speeding away from the crime scene. Another bystander heard the shots, then saw someone fire more shots from the same vehicle.
The shooting victim, who was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, is said to be in stable condition.
Authorities said the man was shot in his pelvis, his right leg, and his knee.
No arrest have been made.
Police are investigating.

Hey, as long as I can step outside my building and breathe the fresh air from Lake Michigan instead of GUNSMOKE, and not hear loud-mouthed 'Shaniqua' cursing out the cops- calling them "pussies" for simply doing their jobs... then I can definitely put up with the 'once in a blue moon' drive-by's that occur in my North Side neighborhood.

Edgewater and Rogers Park are Chicago's version of "diversity". I beg to differ and am open to a good, healthy argument regarding this.

We are toasting Towanda for having the guts to speak out. Maybe someday this neighborhood will get cleaned up but not until we get rid of all the public housing. ReplyDeleteYou know what, I was a poor white kid who grew up in an almost-all minority ghetto. I never gangbanged, never got arrested, I finished high school at 17 and I don't do drugs. I had all the odds stacked against me and I turned out to be a law-abiding citizen. I'm not the best person in the world, but I do no harm to others.
