At 3:29 a.m., an officer in the area spotted the blaze on the 5300 block of North Wayne Avenue, near Wayne and Berwyn. A citizen also reported the fires.
Two young, white males dressed in t-shirts and shorts were seen fleeing the area. They were last seen running westbound on Farragut Avenue.
At 3:42 a.m., a 911 caller saw two white males hiding on top of a garage on the 5200 block of North Magnolia. When officers arrived, they were gone.
However, someone, presumably the suspects, left behind a burning pile of leaves, that a citizen promptly extinguished.
According to an officer at the scene, the fire from the garbage cans spread to a garage and a wooden fence.
As of 4 a.m., the offenders were still at large.
Ghetto thugs come in ALL shapes and sizes. White trash comes to mind. Good that these fires weren't worse than they were for sure. Some people REALLY need to take themselves out of the gene pool!
