Man shot in the hand during attempted robbery on Far South Side

Police are investigating an early morning shooting on Chicago's Far South Side.

The shooting occurred at 1 a.m. in the area of 10300 South Torrence Avenue. An Internet search shows there is a BP gas station at 10302 South Torrence.

The victim said he was approached by a black man wearing a black mask, a black jacket, and green pants. Then, the suspect produced a handgun and demanded the man's money.

The thief shot the victim in the hand and left the scene without any proceeds, said police.

The shooting victim was taken to Trinity Hospital, 2320 East 93rd Street.

  1. "Green" pants, now that shouldn't be too hard to find. Where do these thugs get their guns? How is it possible that they can have them and we can't?! What's wrong with this picture?

  2. People who cry for stricter gun control laws baffle me. Clearly those laws do not apply to criminals.
