Shortly after midnight, violence exploded at a Chicago, Lakeview neighborhood gay bar.
At approximately 12:28 a.m., police were called to Roscoe’s at 3356 North Halsted Street near the corner of Halsted and Roscoe Streets.
According to police dispatch reports, patrons at the bar were fighting.
The suspect, who was described as the aggressor, is an African-American man, approximately 5’11”, 22 to 23-years-old, and was last seen wearing a black and tan jacket with an Eskimo hat.
After the assault, the offender fled the scene northbound on Halsted Street.

ReplyDeleteFirst, it's pathetic that "african-americans" don't know how to "play nice" and no matter where they go, they cause problems or commit crimes..call it what you want, but it's true.
Second, A fight at Rosco's? WOW! I used to hang out in most of the bars on Halsted in the 80's and people just wanted to party, not fight. I NEVER worried about getting home when I left the bars trashed..just point me in the right direction and I would make it home a couple blocks away WITHOUT being robbed or mugged. Things were more fun and much better back than. Now? Not so much with all the "wanna be's" and ghetto thugs on the prowl in BoysTown.

towanda, "call it what you want"... it's racist that you think that about African Americans. Plain and simple. That is a generalization.
ReplyDeleteAnonymouse, call it what you want, but when the vast majority of the crime stories (perhaps 80, maybe 90%?) have African-American perps, kind of hard not to generalize, no?

ReplyDeleteMight be hard for you to believe BUT I'm only what YOU call "racist" towards ghetto thugs and any other thug who preys upon us...I call it as I see it and read it. It is what it is, but it definitely IS NOT A GENERALIZATION. Face the facts, "African-American" ghetto thugs are totally out of control and a disgrace to their culture!

ReplyDeleteOne, I'm a little to "mature" for the 2:15am thing anymore. I'm usually home by midnight.
Two, I'm 6'1" and have been told I "look like a cop" and also that "I'm not gay enough" for Chicago (compliments as far as I'm concerned).
Three, the supposed "transient youth" with their booty cutter underwear exposed and covered in blood, head to toe, thinks I'm going to help them when they come running up behind me at 11:00pm near Roscoe/Halsted. I judge a book by it's cover. No offense.
So here I am again, on my normal pre-midnight jaunt home and deciding to cut down Cornelia to see the supposed obnoxiously large real estate sign placed in front of my straight co-workers condo.
Sir Thug Wannabe and I cross paths. He walks down one side of Cornelia, I on the other. He crosses to my side, behind me. Midway I turn around to let him know I see him too! He turns around and walks back to Halsted (we gotsa smart one here, think I'll leave 'em alone).
Let "them" know you SEE them too. They're not jumping out of dark alleys anymore.
I'm no bad ass but very, very they're brazen in my opinion. Repeat this scenario 12 times since last Summer.
Times are hard for most of us. When I take my leftover $40/week to spend at a bar, namely one down the way (again leaving before midnight) and have to put up with this crap, my good tipping practicies are now spent on cab rides.
Really need to get it together here Chicago. They're ghettin' real bold and daring out there.
P.S. I don't stagger either. After 1 year here, the housing prices/taxes aren't justified (no need to prove that).

LMAO! 80-90% of stories have an AA aggressor = stories that the news reports, which usually are less than 10% of what goes on.
ReplyDeleteBoystown/Lakeview has been shit for the last 15 years, and now all of a sudden you get tapes of a crime with blacks (gay blacks might I add), you now make a big deal and blame a whole "race". There are tons of blacks who've lived in that area that have caused no harm, and now since you have ignorant people of the same skin color commit a crime, they're part of the problem? smh....happy to live in Lincoln Square and be a minority (part black, black to one droppers)....much better area with tons of EVERYBODY and virtually NO CRIME!
