According to police dispatch reports, the fight took place in the parking lot next to Buck’s Saloon at 3439 North Halsted Street.
What started the brawl isn’t clear. But it appears at least one of the people involved in the fight, may have been driving a green van.
In fact, according to one 911 caller, the driver of the van was allegedly seen hitting a woman.
No further details are available.
Why is it necessary in your report to specify "gay" bar?
ReplyDeleteI think that it is time for the boystown community to declare zero tolerance on the various pimps, whores and jackrollers that inhabit the area. Their numbers are increasing rapidly!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous@9:24,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you 100%. I do think that the alderman, Tom Tunney, needs to start putting pressure on these bottom feeders to get out of the neighborhood. They're not spending money, they're taking it from the ward. Once it begins and nothing is done about it, it gets out of control IF it's not addressed. Seems it's getting out of control. TOM TUNNEY, WHERE ARE YOU???

Maybe it's because "Bucks" IS a gay bar and it happened in front of the bar. What's your point anyway?
"Why is it necessary in your report to specify "gay" bar?"
ReplyDeleteIt's part of the details of the story. Why do you ask?
Anonymous 9:24, Clark and Halsted is a mess! When the bums aren't standing at that intersection causing trouble, they are in Dunkin Donuts ruining their business.
ReplyDeleteWhy is this being allowed to continue? In the 80's, this would have NEVER happened.
I commented last week about the man robbed by the Gender Bender. My comments were not intended to blame the victim of the crime, but instead to illustrate the increased nature of this tomfoolery in the clark-belmont area. It is considerably worse than it has ever been. Why does the neighborhood put up with this nonsense? Are they tolerant of the sex trade? Is the sex trade considered some sort of neighborhood amenity?
ReplyDeleteI think that the neighborhood would improve if all of the rocker gear, goth trash and bong shops were to disappear.
I'm not making light of situation, or your comments, but the following remark is too clever for words: "Is the sex trade considered some sort of neighborhood amenity?" :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm the original "anonymous" who asked the question and "anonymous 9:24" answered it perfectly for me. I wasn't aware that it was part of the story. Didn't know about the recent troubles from the outside, that's why I asked. Timothy, you seemed a little snippish or defensive in your reply. I just wanted to know how (or if) it tied in to the story. I didn't know the background.
