The man was reportedly involved in a fight at the bar, which is located at 1551 West Division Street, near the intersection of Division and North Ashland Avenue.
The detained suspect, who was placed in the back of a squad car, used his cell phone to call the police - on the police. The man told a 911 operator that he was the one who called authorities, and that he shouldn’t have been arrested.
Needless to say, the man wanted to speak to a supervisor.
While investigators were sorting out the mess at Evil Olive - blocks away - other officers were looking into a shooting at 1142 North Ashland Avenue.
Authorities said the shooting was related to the disturbance at the bar.
Police dispatch reports indicate at least one person was injured and taken to a nearby hospital.
An officer at the scene said several bullet holes were left in the building at 1142 North Ashland Avenue.

SHUT this place down. It's NOTHING but trouble.
ReplyDeleteThe police are called there, constantly.
ReplyDeleteThan the Alderman and the community need to push to get it shut down. Constant pressure will MAKE the Alderman take action but the community NEEDS to speak out about this place too.
ReplyDeleteIn 2003 and previous years, Daley, Alderman Madeline Haithcock, Police Superintendent Terry Hillard, Fire Commissioner James Joyce and others were aware of safety issues and violations. Nothing was done, until people died. :(
ReplyDeleteMr fitz, im sorry you have no idea what you are writing about.
