A neighbor in the area of 7800 South Marquette Road spotted an 80-year-old woman shoveling snow.
Instead of leaving the comfort of their home, the neighbor called police and asked them to check on the senior citizen.
I don't know what kind of physical condition the 911 caller is in. But if the caller is able to pick up a phone and look out the window, I'm guessing he or she is strong enough to open the door and ask the elderly woman if she is okay, or encourage her to stop shoveling snow.
And where are the so-called men in that neighborhood? Why haven't they stepped up to plate? Where is their sense of community?
In an unrelated incident, a Chicago woman became irate with a 911 operator, after the emergency call-taker told her police are not going to come to her home and shovel the snow from her driveway and garage.
Is that the 80 year old shoveling in that picture because if it is, she has found the fountain of youth and I want her phone number:) How pathetic that the people in that neighborhood couldn't be more neighborly and help her out. If people just "practiced random acts of kindness" imagine how the world would be:)
ReplyDeleteNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL That is not the lady in the story. I should have made that clearer. LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh darn! I thought she has the "secret" LMAO:)
ReplyDeleteThe pictured woman uses Bare Minerals, Victoria Principal's beauty products, Suzanne Sommers' beauty products and Porcelana. :)
