The robbery happened around 7:37 p.m. at the North/Clybourn station, 1599 North Clybourn Avenue.
It's unclear if the crime occurred in the subway, or on the street as the victim exited the station. However, according to an unconfirmed Chicago police dispatch report, the robbery occurred in the subway.
The victim said an African-American man with a teardrop tattoo underneath one of his eyes, snatched her iPhone and fled the scene southbound on Clybourn Avenue.
This is the second robbery at this location within the last three days.
On January 20, 2011, another woman was robbed at the North/Clybourn station.
The CTA HAS to be aware of all the crime going on around their stations and on their trains. NO ONE can be that deaf dumb & blind!
ReplyDeleteTowanda, of course they are aware. But they are not going to spend money on more security, when there are so many tunnels to nowhere to be built!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I have received several emails from readers who forwarded copies of my reports to CTA officials.
ReplyDeleteBased on what I have been told, there was no response.
