Rogers Park Hardware Store Burglarized

At 5:11 a.m., when most people are eyeballing their alarm clocks or getting dressed for work, a crook in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood was already on the job.

A citizen reported a man breaking the window of the Clark-Devon Hardware store at 6401 North Clark Street, near the intersection of you guessed it -- Clark and Devon.

An eyewitness said a Hispanic man broke the store's window and stole two snowblowers. Then he jumped into a white Astro-van with a black bottom.

An African-American woman was also spotted running away from the crime scene. She was described as "skinny", and was last seen wearing a gold-colored coat.

  1. Maybe the "Skinny" was running away because she didn't want to catch the heat for the burglary? On the other hand, maybe "skinny" helped herself after the fact. I'm sure Clark-Devon hardware didn't have their best snowblowers in the window but still, these thefts ultimately cost the taxpayers in higher prices at the checkout. Clark & Devon is a pretty busy area and takes some "huge" ones to pull this off.

  2. You know... it did cross my mind that "skinny" got scared and took.
