Police were called to a north side convenience store, after a man threatened someone with a knife.
The incident occurred around 5:19 a.m., at the 7-Eleven at 2264 North Clark Street, in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.
The 911 caller said a white man with long, blond hair - wearing a black leather jacket - pulled a knife. The caller also said the man appeared to be mentally ill.
At 5:21 a.m., police canvassed the area looking for the suspect.
It's unclear if the victim was a customer or a 7-Eleven employee.
NOTE: I realize there are a lot of white men with long, blond hair in Chicago, but this suspect sounds like the offender who threatened an Edgewater woman, after she refused to let him carry her bags.

I thought the exact same thing, Timothy. We all need to keep an eye out for this guy. He may be mental but he is STILL DANGEROUS! There's a guy who walks around Edgewater that "kinda" sounds like this guy but the guy I see, who's always asking for " a dollar" seems harmless. He does have kinda long blonde hair and wears a black leather jacket sometimes. I think he comes from one of the nursing homes along sheridan, but not sure. I can't imagine this guy having a knife though.
ReplyDeletetowanda, whoever this guy is, I hope he is caught before someone gets hurt. There are a lot of desperate people out there, and we need to be more aware of our surroundings.
ReplyDeleteI am not suggesting others do the same, but I avoid convenience stores for the same reasons I avoid the "L" --- too dangerous.
