Stabbing at Clark Street, Wrigleyville McDonald’s

Police were called to the north side McDonald’s at 3620 North Clark Street, in Chicago’s Wrigleyville neighborhood, after a customer reportedly brandished a knife.

Moments later, police were informed that someone was stabbed at the fast food, burger restaurant.

The crime was reported around 3:43 a.m.

Security managed to disarm the knife-wielding suspect and held him until police arrived; which was around 3:50 a.m.

Subsequent reports indicate a 29-year-old homeless man stabbed a 20-year-old sailor, after a verbal confrontation. Police are trying to determine if the homeless man acted in self-defense.

Witnesses claim the stabbing victim and two other sailors approached the homeless man and exchanged words.

The injured sailor was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

  1. I was there at the time, and the sailors were really looking for toruble. The man with the knife was truly in self defense. In addition, the security officer at McDonald's reacted with EXTREME violence, putting the guy's face on the ground while pushing with his knee. Terrible scene and unfair treatment to the homeless guy.

  2. Thank you for adding that updated information. For some reason, I had a feeling the homeless guy acted in self-defense. I know how cruel people can be towards them.

  4. I was there as well and the guy who stabbed did not look homeless to me. Did they just assume for various reasons?

  5. William, that's interesting. Maybe the police determined he was homeless after interviewing him. Honesty, I don't know why his housing status is relevant. Most homeless people just want to be left alone.

  7. I'm sorry but when you mess with strangers and get the short end of the stick or knife for that matter, you have no one to blame but yourself. If there weren't bothering that man, none of that would have happened. They were looking for trouble and found it. Hope the so called vic is satisfied.
