Man Beaten, Robbed at Uptown Liquor Store

At 3:17 a.m., a man was assaulted and robbed at a liquor store near 5153 N. Broadway (the address given by police), in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood.

An Internet search indicates the address belongs to, or used to belong to Laurie’s Pizzeria & Liquors; which is actually located on Foster Ave.

When police interviewed the victim, he told them he was beaten and robbed by an African-American man who ran toward the CTA Red Line. Police didn’t say if the offender ran towards the Berwyn “L” station or the Argyle “L” station. But the Berwyn station seems like the most logical choice.
