Robber steals 4K from Far North Side dollar store

A thief stole a little over four-thousand dollars from a West Ridge, West Roger Park dollar store, said police.

The strong arm robbery occurred around 12:50 p.m., at 7560 North Western Avenue, near Western and Howard Street.

According to online business records, the address belongs to an establishment called 99 Cent Plus and Foods.

The suspect, described as a black man, entered the store and tried to sell the victim some items he was carrying in a bag, said police.

When the victim, who is presumably a store employee, manager or owner, refused to buy the suspect’s goods, the suspect attacked the victim and stole a deposit bag containing $4000 in cash and a check for $40, said authorities.

After the robbery, the crook ran northbound from the store, toward Evanston, Illinois, said police.

The thief has short hair and he was wearing a black knitted cap and a black North Face jacket. He is approximately 6-feet tall and 160 to 190 lbs.

If you any information regarding this crime, please contact the police, immediately.

  3. Shame. I actually like this store, the owners are pretty nice. This is why people get nervous when a black person comes into a store.

  4. ^oh no reality has no effect on people's perception of blacks! it all comes from TV, movies, and music which are designed to make blacks look bad...
