Photographer Michael J. Berman with MJB Impact Photography in Chicago, has graciously shared his photos of the Saturday, September 8, 2012, fire at 6030 North Kenmore Avenue in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood.
As previously reported by Chicago News Report, the fire started in a second floor apartment and at least one person was injured; possibly due to smoke inhalation.
Many of the foreign born living in this area will soon jet set back to their countries for the winter months. Some of the tax payer subsidized apartments will remain vacant, while other apartments will have friends or other family members holding down the free fort...all the while their free US checks paid by taxpayers are deposited in their bank ...as if they are still residents.
ReplyDelete^ I believe it. On the other hand, out government allows them to get away with it. It's akin to the down-and-out, woe-is-me, desperate "homeless" all over Chicago. They're never out in the rain. Ever.
ReplyDeletethis building is full of americans that are drug sellers, gang bangers, drug and alcohol addicts. not people from other countries. we who live in the neighboring buildings wish this place would have burn to the ground
ReplyDeleteI wish Loyola would buy up all these "4+1's" apartment buildings south to Thorndale and tear them down or convert them to dorms.
ReplyDeleteThe "4+1's" are popular rentals for individuals who have credit issues and need a second chance. The landlords are reasonable and offer those individuals an opportunity to start over in a vibrant neighborhood along the lakefront. Where else but in the land of opportunity can you such compassion for your fellow man. Welcome all of you who seek refuge in the United States of America.
