The native Chicago crooner's appearance at the back-to-school parade has raised more than a few eyebrows.
I'm not sure what the parade organizers were thinking when they chose Kelly, an accused child molester, as Grand Marshal; in fact, I'm not sure the organizers put any effort into the selection process, at all.
Robert Kelly has a history of being entangled with underage girls and his presence at the parade was downright inappropriate.
Back in 1994, Kelly was accused of marrying now deceased singer, Aaliyah.
At the time, Aaliyah was reportedly 15-years-old.
Kelly and Aaliyah denied they were ever married.
Years later, Kelly was accused of videotaping himself having sex with a female minor and urinating on her.
The R&B singer was found not guilty, because the jury wasn't sure it was Kelly on the tape.
It's no secret that some African-American fans, especially black women, vehemently support Kelly's career.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, several women at the Bud Billiken parade said they didn't care about the R&B singer allegedly committing statutory rape and urinating on a 14-year-old girl.
“You’re still my baby, no matter what you did!” said 36-year-old Leslie Kaizer, reported the Sun-Times.

ReplyDeleteHe's a BLACK MALE R&B singer so like any other BLACK MALE R&B singer his core audience is BLACK WOMEN. But then again this fact has nothing to do with his appearance at a parade.
"According to the Chicago Sun-Times, several women at the Bud Billiken parade said they didn't care about the R&B singer allegedly committing statutory rape and urinating on a 14-year-old girl."
ReplyDeleteThe Sun Times never indicated if it were strictly just women stating anything. The parade-goers said that the allegations should be left in 2008; the year he was found not guilty. They never stated that they didn't care.
Please, stop with the fabrications.
The Sun-Times quoted two women, presumably black. That is not a fabrication - it's a fact.
ReplyDeleteI guess you must be a R. Kelly fan.
I personally don't know why out of all the black entertainers, they would choose him to be there. With his image so tainted with alleged sexual indecencies with minors, I would have keep him far away. But then again, there's so much denial within the black community.
ReplyDeleteI think this perfectly encapsulates the dearth of leadership in, and the poor/desperate judgment of, the black community: having R-mother-effing-Kelly, a dude who **pisses on little girls**, as the most exalted guest at an event intended to inspire children. I think "The Onion" gets its article ideas from real-life incidents of black folks...[fade out with Dave Chapelle's spoof-R. Kelly song "I'm gonna piss on you..."]
ReplyDeleteIf R. Kelly is the best blacks can do, no wonder they are so damned screwed up. Poor little creatures.
ReplyDelete"Look Moesha. See that man on the float? He was accused of emptying his bladder on a girl who was about your age. Wave to the man Moesha!"
@Fed Up With Black Criminals said... "Poor little creatures"? Even when african- americans are trying to community minded you refer to them as creatures? And you wonder why african-americans take issue with some races. You still seem to be in that "African-americans are property just like pets" frame of mind.
ReplyDeleteGet over it! Let the black community take care of it's own issues, afterall, you have your own issues to concerned with such as keeping women of ohter nationalities from chasing after blck males.
