Cabdriver robbed at gunpoint, knifepoint in Rogers Park


According to a 4:37 a.m. dispatch report, a Chicago taxi driver was robbed at both knifepoint and gunpoint in Rogers Park.

The strong-arm robbery occurred on the 7500 block of North Greenview Avenue, near Greenview and Birchwood, said police.

Two male black offenders and a female black offender stole the cab driver’s money and the keys to his vehicle, said authorities.

After the alleged robbery, all three suspects fled in an unknown direction.  

One male suspect is approximately six-foot-one and was wearing a gray hooded T-shirt and blue jeans. He was armed with a gun, said police.

The second male offender was wearing an orange T-shirt and blue jeans. He was armed with a knife, said police. 

The female crook is approximately 5’4”, 180 pounds, and was last seen wearing a gray jacket and a red T-shirt. According to authorities, she was also armed with a knife.

  1. Being a cabdriver is probably more hazardous than being a cop. More get killed every year as well as having guns pointed at them. Can't say I'd want to be in their job.

  2. That's a tough but necessary job for sure. Maybe the cab drives should be allowed to carry some type of weapon to protect themselves. We are all sitting ducks out there.
