Lakeview lakefront robbery reported

Around 11 p.m., a robbery was reported on the 3700 block of North Recreation Drive, near Irving Park Road and Recreation Drive.

Four masked men robbed an elderly couple, said one 911 caller.

After the purported mugging, an eyewitness saw the masked men "running around" the area for an unknown reason.

According to one source, the alleged robbery occurred near the Waveland Park Softball Fields, located between the Waveland Clock Tower and the Waveland Park Tennis Courts.

It's unclear if a robbery actually occurred.

However, four people were taken into custody, around 11:25 p.m.

No further details are available.

  1. Wow! Robbing innocent seniors on Recreation Drive? Come on now, this is getting retarded! Lakeview, you people need to take back your neighborhood before it becomes the laughing stock of the Northside. Pipe down with the anal sex for once, take a stand, and start making some citizen arrests!

  3. Skokie, not sure about the "anal sex" comment in your comment but whatever..
Ghetto thugs love to prey on the weaker victims lest they get their asses kicked from here to China. Just check out how many articles on this blog alone are about women, seniors, handicapped/disabled.

Except for the mental and emotional trauma, which will never go away, I hope they are alright.
