Gang attacks, injures person on Near North Side

Around 10:55 p.m., someone was attacked by a gang of male and female offenders on Chicago’s Near North Side.

The assault occurred near the intersection of North State and East Erie Streets; which is approximately 658 North State Street.

The motive for the attack isn’t clear, but the crime appears to be a robbery or attempted robbery.

Seven African-American men and two African-American women, described as teenagers, attacked the victim, said police. One suspect was wearing a coat with black spots and another offender had a lip piercing.

The attackers were last seen walking westbound on Erie Street.

The extent of the victim’s injuries were not disclosed. However, an ambulance was called to 630 North State Street.

  1. Like I've said before, if the CPD sees a gang of up to no good roaming kids lurking around, ask them where they're going and what they're doing in THAT neighborhood. They don't belong there! I see no reason to stop people and question them. Of course, the NAACP and the ACLU will think otherwise but too bad. Chances are they're either "holding" drugs or guns..maybe both. 9 African-American kids in a neighborhood they neither live in or belong in are just looking for trouble. Why else are they roaming in that neighborhood? The restaurants are expensive and you are carded and sometimes have to pay to get into the clubs down there...TROUBLE, that's ALL they're looking for down there.

  2. Apparently, someone who knows the victim found my article. Over the weekend, it was passed around quite a bit, and even made the top 10 stories list.

Towanda, clearly, something needs to be done to stop these ill-mannered so-and-soes from completely ruining the quality of life for everyone in Chicago.
