Police are looking for two women accused of stealing merchandise from a Michigan Avenue store. So far, I have been unable to determine which store the thieves hit.
This information was brought to my attention at 6:26 p.m.
The offenders are described as two African-American women between the age of 20 and 23-years-old. One woman has a lip ring and the other suspects has an eyebrow piercing.
Authorities said the shoplifters are carrying bebe shopping bags, and might be headed to the Forever 21 store at 835 North Michigan Avenue.
On January 19, 2011, an estimated 20 shoplifters stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Filene’s Basement, A/X Armani Exchange, and The North Face store.
11 people were arrested.
It's unclear if the women involved in today's shoplifting spree are a part of the gang that terrorized Michigan Avenue stores two days ago.

Of course they came back! It's easy money!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking these women were part of the crime spree from last week and weren't caught BUT ya never know. they could be the start of a new group of thugs. I think the alderman of that ward needs to get more police on the streets of Michigan Ave. When I lived down there, I was told that that area had more police than any area/ward in the city because of Michigan Ave and that's where all the money is. I'm sure stores were getting shoplifted than as well but not like this. Seems it's out of control and pretty brazen.
ReplyDeletetowanda, according to various Second City Cop blog reports/comments, Daley "freezed" cop hiring.
ReplyDeleteRudy, I sure hope whomever gets elected makes hiring more police a high priority, they start busting up these gangs, enforcing curfew and we get back to the level of protection we had. I don't live in the city of chicago for the hell of it, I live here because I LOVE LIVING here but could live anywhere. Living in the "Wild Wild West" is not my idea of what chicago is but what it is becoming.
ReplyDeletetowanda, we need "shoot to kill" via the Chicago Police and/or National Guard.
ReplyDeleteRudy, I would be up for the National Guard to come in and round up the gangs and all these bottom feeders preying on the city but not sure on the "shoot to kill" thing. I think that depends on the situation. I also think that since the death penalty is off the table, there should be NO PAROLE as an alternative.
ReplyDeletetowanda, the death penalty hasn't been signed by Quinn yet.
ReplyDeleteI am not for "no parole", because some of those murderers eventually are released for "whatever" reason.
