A man was robbed on the 2600 block of West Peterson Avenue, near the intersection of Peterson and Rockwell, in Chicago’s West Rogers Park neighborhood.
The robbery occurred around 8 p.m.
The victim told police four men wearing masks, implied they had a gun and stole a briefcase or black leather bag containing $20,000.00.
Police said the suspects fled the scene in a tan, Dodge Caravan with a temporary tag on it.
At 8:10 p.m., officers stop three possible suspects on the 6000 block of North Fairfield Avenue, but none of the suspects were carrying a bag of money.
Officers questioned the victim, and he confirmed the bag contained twenty grand.
Police brought two of the three apprehended suspects back to Rockwell and Peterson, so the victim could identify them. The suspects were positively identified by the complainant.
The money is still missing.

WTF? Who keeps 20K in their house? Sounds like an inside deal to me and of course they didn't have the money..it's called stashed.
ReplyDeletetowanda, even the cops were questioning the amount of money the vic claims was in the bag. Maybe he was making a cash deposit for a business.
ReplyDeleteI don't no, this looks awful fishy to me. What kind of "business"? 8:00 at night and he hasn't made a deposit of that amount of money? Sorry but I'd be suspicious.
